Character Information
Character Name: Yosuke Hanamura
Canon: Persona 4
Canon Point: Post True End
Is your character Dead, Undead or Alive: Alive
History:
here
Personality:
Yosuke can be described as an irritable teenager as a result from a frankly excitable personality. Yosuke is, on the surface, a mouthy guy who doesn't know how to be quiet, a mediator in the group despite generally being the starter of conflict. He's blunt and honest, rude to a point, and usually insensitive as a whole.
But the thing is that Yosuke is fully aware that he's annoying. He's horribly self-conscious about himself and, all dramatics aside, probably hates himself all together. He's frequently shown calling himself names like "idiot", and in the manga his internal dialogue covers his constant fear of being an embarrassment through all his "confident" facades. Because he does act a bit like a know it all, he acts cocky and above everyone else -- but it's exactly that, an act. In truth, he believes himself to be the loser in the group, replaceable.
But as a whole, it doesn't really effect his character all that much. He dislikes himself, yes, but he's pretty much always a loud and outgoing man, even if on the inside he's question his every move. Since the MC of Persona 4 is a silent protagonist, Yosuke is generally used as his mouth piece, helping move the story along especially towards the beginning of the game. Because of this, he comes off as pretty intelligent -- he's pretty much always the person who comes to a conclusion based on the evidence he's given, he infers and offers explanations for the mystery of things.
But this is also hypocritical, because Yosuke sometimes does really stupid things. Far as talking goes he's pretty smart, but he's the kind of guy to crash his bike into a trashcan, to carry around bathing suits for his female friends to wear, to ask where his best friend keeps his porn stash.
A large part of the game is dedicated to the inner person everyone covers up -- the true self, they call it. Yosuke's Shadow is shown as his insecurities between loneliness and boredom, because there's nothing he fears more than being alone, and nothing he hates more than the boring town of Yasoinaba. All in all, he believe Inaba to be lacking, uninteresting, and boring -- but by the end of the game, he does a complete one-eighty, saying that he loves this town, for all the friends that its brought together, assuring that he'll never be lonely again.

Abilities, Strengths and Weaknesses:
Yosuke is a Persona user, which means he can channel a reflection of his inner self in order to fight. Yosuke's Persona is named Susano-o, who has mainly wind (garu) based attacks. Yosuke also has a preference for fighting with two small knives, one in each hand -- physically, he's acrobatic and limber, light of his feet.
